I have been looking this fluval for a long time .it’s the right size for my fish tank. Easy to put it together and the instructions are simple to follow. I will recommend using this Fluval brand to my family and friends.

Hi Gang, Alan again. If you are in the market for a gravel cleaner check out my review on the Fluval Gravel Vac Multi (small). This filter works fine for my 60L tropical aquarium, with live plant life and way too many fish (newbie mistake). I bought Fluval 107 after reviewing a number of forums and watching way too many youtube videos on the many types of filters, pros and cons, why under gravel filters are ****, why sponge filters are limited, why hang on the back filters are too noisy, why the moon is not made from cheese LOL. Anyway I bought the 107 because it is quiet, has multiple stages of filtration and the media you use can be swapped out or customised based on your preference. As mentioned all parts needed are included, no need to buy extra O rings, hoses, clamps, clips, filter floss, charcoal etc. its all included in the box and ready to go. The hose length for the intake and output is also plenty long. I would say you get close to 3metres of hose to cut and dice as you please. Setup is quick and intuitive even for a newbie like me whose is into keeping fish for the first time. I only looked at the (very easy to follow and detailed ) manual once, and that probably explains why there was water all over the floor when I turned it on - lol just kidding! Seriously, just follow the easy to ready instructions and clear diagrams, setup takes about 10minutes and about another 5minutes to adjust the in/out hoses on your tank. It runs quiet, well I have nothing to compare it to since this is my first and only canister filter experience however, as it sits inside my fish cabinet and I also place it on top of a small towel to dampen any vibrations and with the cabinet doors closed I can just barely hear it above the 747 jumbo jets flying over my house every 5 minutes. LOL kidding!!!! - Seriously it is a quite unit, with the cabinet doors close and sitting on top of a tea towel I can't hear it - oh yes, it's turned on as well, just in case you were thinking I am playing another joke :-) The unit does have built in rubber feet as a way of noise reduction. Cleaning - there is a valve leaver which you can use to vary the water flow for smaller tanks and the valve also doubles as a 'stop' for when you need to unhook the filter unit from the hoses for cleaning - this clever design means you're not having to fidldle with hoses and buckets to avoid flooding or cleaning up overflow.The various compartments in the filter can all be taken out and cleaned individually and put back together with the same ease. In total from unhooking to a decent clean, plugging it back in and running again takes all of about 15miuntes - depending how much time you want to wash and scrub :-) You cannot go wrong with the Fluval 107 cannister filter. Fluval has really thought of how the fish hobbiest will use their product and with that in mind have created an excellent filtration system. For my 60L tank in hindsight I should have bought one size larger the 207 and this is only so that I could take advantage of the increased water flow for my over stocked tank.
